Development Services
The community development department provides guidance to citizens and businesses to ensure that development is consistent with the city’s zoning regulations and its comprehensive plan vision for our community.
The department works closely with the Planning Commission and City Council to review applications for development, rezoning, conditional use permits and variances.
The department works with the Planning Commission and City Council to modify, update and use the city’s comprehensive plan, which defines the long-range goals and intentions about the nature and direction of future development within our community. The comprehensive plan contains elements about land use, transportation, community facilities, urban design, and housing.
