Fire Prevention Education
The department provides a number of fire prevention and education programs for residents from preschool to adult. These include fire extinguisher training, fire station tours, presentations, and school programs and visits.

Commercial fire safety inspections can be provided on request. Please contact 952-443-4240 to set up an inspection.
CPR & AED Training
The fire department hosts CPR & AED training to promote the health and welfare of our citizenry. Classes will be held throughout the year.
Fire Alarm & Carbon Monoxide Alarm Batteries
The Victoria Fire Department will assist residents who are physically unable to, test and change batteries in fire alarms and carbon monoxide detectors. Please call 952-443-4240 for a firefighter to come to your home to assist you.
Blood Pressure Checks
If you are interested in having your blood pressure checked, you may stop by the fire station most Monday and Friday evenings. Typically, someone is at the fire station between 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. This is also a great training opportunity for our firefighters.

Minnesota Severe Weather Awareness Week is April 17-21, 2023. Severe Weather Awareness Week is designed to teach and remind Minnesotans about weather hazards and practice your emergency plans in case of severe weather and tornadoes.
According to the National Weather Service, Minnesota experiences an average of 40 tornadoes per year. In 2012, 37 twisters touched down. A record was set in 2010 with 104 tornadoes across the state. Understanding this threat and knowing what to do when a tornado is approaching can save lives.
Take advantage of Severe Weather Awareness Week to review your own and your family’s emergency procedures and prepare for weather-related hazards.
Each day of the week was focused on a different topic.
- Monday - Alerts and warnings
- Tuesday - Severe Weather, lightning, and hail
- Wednesday - Floods
- Thursday - Tornadoes (with statewide tornado drills)
- Friday - Extreme heat
Severe Weather Outdoor Warning Sirens
The Carver County Sheriff’s Office activates outdoor warning sirens for the following events: tornado warning in Carver County; wind speed of 70 mph or greater; or imminent danger to life and/or property. The sirens are activated for testing on the first Wednesday of the month, March-October at 1:00 pm. The VFRA holds an annual ice fishing contest to raise funds to promote the health and safety of the community.
